India is supposedly fascinated by three Gs — Ganga, Gandhi, and Gora. The first one is far from pure now. The second one is present in currency. The last one is catapulting into approximately three thousand crores commercial businesses in today’s scenario.
Ever thought from where it all started in India. In 1919 India got its first-ever fairness cream called AFGHAN SNOW. Then comes the famously known Fair & lovely in 1975 Hindustan Unilever has introduced this fairness cream in the Indian market. The product started off by marketing dreams and desires, switching to being the key that’ll get you the man of your dreams. Indirectly or directly it says if you are not fair then you might not get your dream job or a life partner. After that, it stated if you’re not fair you may not be confident.
The dark roots of fair obsession in India started from the old times. For example a famous devotional song “Yashomati maiyya se bole Nand lala, Radha kyun gori, main kyun kala”. Do you think actually he had asked or not this to his mother. In Sanskrit, the term ‘Asuryasparsh’ is used to define the who is untanned, untouched by the sun’s heat and, is therefore pure and affluent. There’s this statement about dark-skinned people belonging to the labour class because they would work on the fields under the sun. White skin, on the other hand, symbolized power.

Google and YouTube are flooded with these short tricks to become naturally white in just two minutes or five minutes. And people do watch it and experiment it on their skin. Why Indians are so indulged in it??????? Let’s take an incident for example to explain it better.
Let’s go back to childhood: a family is blessed with a girl child or if I say this statement according to society ” a family is burden with girl child”. Then the next statement oh, she is dark. Now comes the role of society put some gram flour, give her bath with milk, apply turmeric, and God knows what else. So it starts with conditioning only. Conditioning of body and mind both. Indians are conditioned or nurtured since they don’t know What is the meaning of being fair or dark?
A humble request with parents please stop conditioning your child with these fair or dark words. If you really want to condition them for better life condition them by saying you must love yourself for whatever you are you don’t need to change for anyone. Be yourself be confident.
It took 50 years for a fairness cream company to delete the word fair from its product name. Why it took that step everyone must be aware of it.
How many years do you need to delete this word from your mind?????????
Do you need more products related to this context?????
I think it’s high time to change our mindset towards this so-called fairness obsession.
I think we have a huge task in this small world.the dna roots will last for much longer.eradication of white-black mindset needs to have a decentralized approach.gandhi ji told tht if u want to change others first change yourself..on this principal I literally following this Everytime .
I too have advantage by knowing different types of person from different direction north south east west …this exposer has clearly transformed my way of looking things …
So all in all it will remain in society but I can see coming 10 yrs or so the society will be much independent and with different perception …yes you are right thts bcz I will b taking the futuristic lead … hahahahah

I think this change in mentality will take many more years as people are obsessed with the word ‘gora’. I’ve seen families who want their sons (who according to their own families are dark skinned) to get married to a fair woman so that their coming generations would be fair.
